There should be a warning for any romatic relationships in movies targeted to children or family or be required to be rated higher such as pg13+ at least. It’s our job as parents to monitor what our children are being exposed to and I don’t think we should be putting legislation on something that is the parents job to do. The best way to stop the push for this in every kid movie or tv show is to just stop purchasing it. The consumer is what drives the content being produced and if less people blindly took their kids to see a so called family movie or streamed it at home eventually the loss in profits will force change in directions back to child friendly content that’s actually child friendly and not pushing an agenda. I could care less if people are LGBTQ+ but I find it completely unnecessary to have this featured in every child movie being produced lately. It would be nice if this information was stated clearly in the beginning of movie so I didn’t have to watch the whole thing every time to know if there is too much going on like in the movie released a few years ago where the entire movie was about a gay boy meeting and gaining the courage to ask out his crush but was advertised as if it was for little kids by promoting it like it was just about a boy discovering a new world. It would have been nice to have the truth about it clearly warned in the advertisements and then my son wouldn’t have been allowed to watch it with his kindergarten when it should have been marketed to older kids and teens
Of all the major issues facing this country homosexuality is not one of them. People wonder why conservatives aren’t taken seriously by the main stream media and are often made fun of in the entertainment industry. It’s outlandish crap like this. Being gay, bi, or anything else is not a crime. You may not like that someone is gay and that is not a crime either. According to many religious text homosexuality is a sin but so is passing judgement on others and those same religious text state that no sin is greater than another. This coupled with living in a country with freedom do religion means you are free to practice much or as little of any religion you choose. This also goes for no religion. Thereby making any laws against homosexuality unconstitutional. Also the hypocrisy of you people is ridiculous. You can’t judge someone for sin when you yourself are a sinner.
It is the governments job through the FCC to license broadcasters and provide guidelines for content ratings and appropriate age content for specific hours.
It is also the **government’s job **to ensure the means exists for adults to identify and filter the media that enters their home. The adults should be able to set a filter to exclude any visual trans or homosexual content. The published identification markings shall also aid in the adults not buying graphic novels or books that contain the deviant behavior.
No is telling you what to watch with your children. If you have them. We just want real American family values protrayed and no chance of our children and grandchildren being exposed to far left ideologies.
It is. There are tons of tiktoks of “trans” and homosexuals literally addressing children. So that’s a bullshit.
They should have their own channel with an option for us to block. Just like they need a “trans” restroom and their own sports league.
So is it your opinion we should entirely eliminate the FCC and their existing policies?
Such as ;
- Obscene content
The FCC prohibits the broadcast of obscene content at all times.
- Indecent and profane content
The FCC prohibits the broadcast of indecent and profane content on radio and television between 6 AM and 10 PM, when children may be in the audience.

- Definition of indecent speech
The FCC defines indecent speech as material that depicts or describes sexual or excretory organs or activities in a way that is patently offensive, as measured by contemporary community standards.
- Enforcement
The FCC enforces these rules by issuing civil monetary penalties, revoking licenses, or denying renewal applications. The Department of Justice can also pursue criminal violations.

- Filtering tools
The FCC uses filtering tools to limit access to pornography on FCC resources.
- Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA)
CIPA requires schools and libraries that receive discounts for internet access to have an internet safety policy that blocks or filters access to obscene, child pornography, or harmful content.

If I may make a suggestion, I think what I’m hearing is intended something like this:
People would like the option to control when/if their children and themselves are exposed to homosexual or transexual content in their entertainment.
As such we would like the G, general audience, rating to include traditional relationship models only, moving homosexual and transexual material into the Restricted viewing category so that the general public can have the choice to include these themes in their lives and in the formation of their children, or not, as they see fit.
What children see they imitate because they’re learning through their eyes how to be adults, so what they see is molding the adults they will become. Some parents would prefer to have ability to choose at what age, if, when, and how their children are exposed to non-traditional relationship models.
Given that a significant section of the population wishes to refrain from randomly seeing these materials or having their children see it, it is reasonable to request the option to see a movie or tv show without viewing that content. The subject at hand is homosexual and transexual material but it could as easily be graphic violence, etc.
It doesn’t matter if some people don’t mind. It’s not a call to ban the material but only to make room for those who do not feel the same, to include the significant portion of America’s population who do mind being forced to see it in order to watch anything.
Except the values I’m supporting are the same ones our nation was founded upon, matches the Judeo Christian values, the majority of conservatives, and most parents who are not ultra leftist.
It not like I’m taking the Islamic approach and saying execute those who come out publicly with this behavior.
The First Amendment to the United States Constitution, which is part of the Bill of Rights states:
"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof…"This is known as the “Establishment Clause” and the “Free Exercise Clause.” The Establishment Clause effectively prevents the government from creating or promoting a state religion or favoring one religion over another.
First of all Jesus isn’t a deity… he is the one and Only whether you believe or not. ANYONE can walk through the Catholic doors to get right with the Lord and worship him according to his will. ANYONE. No one is hated. But he is very VERY clear on the disgusting behaviors we need to stop because they offend him greatly. Your human mind influenced by the dark influence of this world will make you believe that your thinking is omnipotent and will not allow you to see how you are nothing and Gods will is everything. He was very clear to inherit eternal life we must love home full body mind and soul, and love our neighbor as ourselves. Wouldn’t you love that God be given the faith and obedience he asks of us? Wouldn’t you want to be able to help yourself if you saw yourself doing something stupid that can send you to hell? How can we not love someone by warning and guiding them to what someone is doing wrong! He on earth can we say we love someone if we can’t be truthful and help someone who is on the wrong foot and needs to hear the truth. Not to hurt them but to help them for the sake of love. Love is a sacrifice not a feeling which is what homosexuality. Pure sexual emotion impurities that are out of control.
you don’t have to like it, but it’s perfectly natural. Animals in the wild do it.
It seems like the point where we may be able to find consensus is that the ‘G’ rating should not include ideology that is not generally accepted by the population. Therefore, overtly religious, ideological, and political messaging would warrant a ‘PG’ rating for “<insert ideology> themes”. So you might see PG ratings for “Christian themes”, “LGBT+ themes”, etc.
That way, if you want your kids to have certain messaging in their entertainment, you can easily find it, or if you don’t you can easily filter it out. It sounds like that would make everyone involved happy.
I don’t think that the main argument against homosexuality in media is its presence, but the fact that it feels like it is “sneaking in” and making parents feel like their trust in the media is being violated.
Please forgive my assumption. I was born into the tribe of Levi and was educated in a jewish academy until 6th grade.
My high school was a huge transition, as I was sent to a Seventh Day Adventist Christian boarding school.
I took both of those theologies very seriously while i was observing them.
After my falling out with the church, i explored Buddhism, Sufism, Golden Dawn, and most recently, Taoism.
From my understanding, Yeshua Ben Joseph (the english transliteration of the actual appellation which was given to the one you call Jesus Christ). In my mind, i was being permissive of your beliefs when I called your Christ a deity. Perhaps i should have used Capitus Diminutae Maxima, and penned it as “Deity”.
Because im confident that if you’ll investigate the minutiae of the matter, you’ll agree that Jesus Christ is in fact a Deity.
And if you’re exceptionally flexible of mind, you might conclude that Jesus Christ was the 16th of a lineage of crucified saviours of this world, all sharing key themes, miracles, dates, events, and circumstances.
But I’ll digress on that point. Christ is and was exceptional in every sense of the word. His teachings are inpeccable and i find no fault in his doctorine. Im most intigued by the years of his life between ages 13-30 though. The Bible omits this season of his life. There are other writings in other cultures that give detailed accounts of this period. I wont go quoting strange holy books at you though, lest i shake your conviction in your chosen path. That is not my aim.
Thanks for your attempt at correcting my folly, but i am not and never have been homosexual in thought or deed. I have nothing but love for those that have identified themselves thusly. I think your Christ would relate to that.
Be Blessed.
This is anti freespeech.
What ban?
By who? The government?
I agree it shouldn’t be in family movies but this forum is about governmental policy and though I agree on principle, i dont want gov’t at all saying what content should be. This issue needs to be resolved by the private sector and the population’s pressure on movie producers.
Regulation of movie content isn’t banning.
Please stop trying to force your religious preferences on my government. And the same book you use to justify your hate of homosexuals tells you not to judge and not to cut your hair. Or did you forget that part? Not everyone needs to follow your religion and we don’t need it shoved down our throats constantly.
Rachel, we want smaller, less intrusive government. We’re trying to get rid of the nanny state. This isn’t the proper role for the federal government. We already have many services offering reviews on TV shows and movies with content guidelines. Many of these services are Christian, with warnings about content that doesn’t align with your values. It’s your responsibility to look into these things before you choose to view and spend money on these shows, not the government’s responsibility. Take control of your own freedom, and please do not advocate for any further expansion of government.
You are right that the movie industry produces too many inappropriate movies that promote immorality or, like in the case of transgenderism, ideologically-motivate pseudoscience that no one, not only children, should watch. However, censorship is not the answer to this problem. If we let the government censor or ban something that we know is immoral, we automatically let the government the authority to enforce whatever their ‘experts’ think is necessary for the “greater good of society” or ban what they think is “misinformation,” or a “threat to our democracy.” If you are paying attention, you know that they already tried to do it, and the only reason why they didn’t succeed is that Americans value their freedom of speech and artistic expression.
Asking a government agency (FCC) who already has a system in place to include immoral and deviant content either in existing categories or add a category for isn’t expanding the government it’s clarifying what they should already be doing!
Absolutely agree. We need less government/less regulation/ and more American Spirit (pardon any emotional overtones that mine words hath wrought. )
