My husband and I got so sick of homosexuality being crammed down our throats on Netflix that we cancelled our subscription years ago!
This doesn’t need a law. If you don’t like something don’t watch it or listen to it. I’m not for these things either. However i chose not to watch them. Laws shouldn’t be put on things because you disagree with someone’s form of entertainment. Ratings for age appropriate content yes. But making it criminal no. If you notice many places are losing a lot of money due to their choices. That’s how you get rid of it. By choosing not to pay for it. It’ll go to where it’s wanted on its own by doing so.
I agree we can update the rating system for the different content. As its up to the individual to decide what’s right for their home. Since you brought up die hard. I personally watched that with children i raised. I see no harm in it personally. However its a perfect example of individuals choosing what’s right for their families and themselves.
The decision to expose children to alternative lifestyles that contradict the very essence of family in the traditional sense of the word is not for the film makers to make. Labeling their films as family fare is deceptive advertising. You can do what you like, but the people creating the films must make them appropriate for their intended audience.
That’s what the policy being requested is about. The rating system isn’t serving its purpose informing people about topics.
Your argument is “watch it to find out if you shouldn’t watch it” is pretty flawed.
My dog barks at gay people. Nobody else, just them.
Ok so I understand your point but at the same time kids are going to be exposed to things we as parents don’t necessarily agree with. I don’t think those movies need to be completely banned but there does need to be a warning label put on it just like there are warning labels for sexually explicit or violent content so that parents can choose not to allow that movie or game or whatever it is to be viewed by their children until the children are old enough to understand that there are families with a mommy and daddy, families with 2 mommies, families with 2 daddies, and even families who have step parents or adopted parents because there are a lot of different family dynamics now. Movies need to be labeled as well as games so parents can make the choices of what they want their kids to watch plain qnd simple.
I agree with updating the rating system. But not a ban on any particular entertainment. Part of our jobs with children is to review emerging before allowing them to watch it. Even with an updated rating sustenance you should still do this. The original post is in regards to banning it outright. Nothing should be outlawed due to your disagreement with it. I do not agree with same seed couples. However that’s not for me to decide what’s right for someone elses life. Same for their entertainment.
Yea, I think you have it weighted correctly, so don’t give up on The American People.
I would be surprised if “Family Movies” (or any movies, except for perhaps the steady and reliable pharmacuitical commercials) even aired during a massive economic collapse…but then again, my “Conspiracy Theories” might be flairing up again.
From my understanding the original post is pretty clear about “family [rated] movies” in both the headline and the text.
I dont think it would hurt to simply change the rating system (adding much more granularity) and allow a filter on the homeowner’s end to screen out what they dont want showing in their homes. It really would be a simple thing to do. This is better than banning any content because of someone’s personal choice
Correct, but many here are for the rating system. Not a policy rating system is already in effect. TV Parental Guidelines Monitoring Board. Is who they need to speak to. That’s not a government body they work with the FCC. They are not the FCC however. As this is about new policies in the forum. Why would we create policies that are redundant? We already have these places.
I would be open to a tag for such but you can’t say no family movies because then you come across the problem of first amendment. But even the tags these days are industry tags so this is better addressed in the private sector.
If a gay/trans person were to show up at your church and want to worship the same Diety that you worship, would you let them?
If a schitzophrenic came into your church to worship tha same diety as you, would you let them?
Thanks for saying so.
Consider this, however (since you brought up conspiracy theories)… what if our civilization indeed collapsed a few years ago, and the only thing keeping us going through the motions is the family movies still showing up on our chosen media outlets?
But, I’ll digress. We’re precisely as civilized as we act towards our neighbors, regardless of whos hand they are holding.
Make it illegal for govt to subsidize via tax incentives etc any form of entertainment period nationwide. That’s right, no tax break’s for this cause or that cause, just no more. This will end it immediately.

I am stealing your comment and saying it again. I honesty didn’t know that existed in the entertainment industry.
If we quit watching them they will stop making them. We haven’t watched tv in 20 yrs.!!
