TV ads arenât cheap. Pharma passes those costs to us through higher drug prices. This is reason enough to ban the practice.
But Pharma will claim government overreach, 1st amendment rights, etc. Tobacco only agreed with advertising bans to avoid never-ending class action lawsuits, penalties, fines, and potential legal liabilities for poisoning & killing millions of people. How can the same be done for Pharma?

Please do something about this. Overmedication of children mostly, but adults as well. I have had to wait in line behind 3 pharma reps at a doctors office to check in for an appointment. All of them peddling the latest greatest meds to keep America sick and complacent.

100%. We stream mostly but when cable TV is on the drug ads are nonstop! The ads need to go.

They should also restrict pricing, all countries should pay the same price. We shouldnât have to buy medications from Canada because they are cheaper than we can get them in the US. Keep our dollars flowing thru the USA and support local pharmacies especially the little guys who are getting pushed out of business by the big box pharmacies.

In my opinion, Pharma commercials serve no other purpose than to cause fear in people. When you learn about this, that and the other possible threat to your health every few minutes during commercial breaks, you start seeing your body as vulnerable and unreliable and yourself as incapable to take care of it without the medical and pharmaceutical establishment. This is not conducive to taking charge of your own and your familyâs health and making informed decisions that donât necessarily invasive procedures or drugs.

I agree 100%. We learned from the opioid disaster that doctors are easily manipulated. The US is the most over-medicated country in the world. Itâs more profitable to treat most problems with medication than to educate people about prevention.

The High Priced TV Advertising drives up the cost of prescription drugs, while driving up insurance rates, and co-pays.
This is a reason the United States has some of the highest prescription drug prices in the World, for the exact same drugs.

Do No Harm for physicians also means they have the obligation to prescribe opiates when necessary for patients, NOT IV TYLENOL AFTER AMPUTATION OR CANCER, HOSPICE, etcâŚPain patients know when they need pain management. Physicians treat every other ailment but chronic pain.

Explain financial disclosures? You want all the doctors to disclose all of their income? Not all doctors are taken in by pharmaceutical companies; however, that is a main emphasis in medical school. I think they should be teaching more preventative medicine. If you are in med school, you are not privy to the fact they teach this way until your last year. What do you do then? Quit? Throw all that money and training away? I just want to understand your thinking.
I have learned yoga over the last 8 years, and became a Yoga Teacher, and got off many pain meds, but still need them when I re- injure an old injury. I am waiting on a steroid shot for two week for a bulged disc with a small tear. When you have known chronic conditions, they need to assist you faster. 20 year old chronic injuries do not just go away easy when you re-injure them. Then they make you wait a week for an appointment, and 2 weeks to come back for the procedure, and then a 30 day follow up. It is the same thing, yet they act like they have to start the long process each time.

I should have mentioned that only the USA and New Zealand are the two countries to have this advertising. We need to ban it not only on TV but in other media as well. I pray that RFK Jr gets confirmed as he will make this happen!
We should also force Doctors to offer alternatives when there are ones available that either are just as effective or cheaper to prevent doctors only offering what helps them the most
Only two (2) countries in the world allow Drug/Pharma advertising on TV ⌠New Zealand and the USA. STOP pharma TV advertising NOW!
I have been a champion for this cause for many years. Prescription drug advertising is nothing more than a money laundering scheme to pay off mainstream media. Stopping this flow of money will force the major networks and television stations back to real journalism again.
Definitely stop drug advertising.
We should ban drug advertising beyond just TV to include prints, social media, etc.
Also, we should ban incentives from drug companies paid to insurance companies and providers (doctors, etc).
I would also add disclosure for all medical procedure costs. This will allow for competition and free market.
