First off thank you Mr. President for this opportunity for all Americans.
I would like to see some assistance for Military Spouses who are in student loan debt. I as a military spouse have not been lucky enough to pay off student loan debt for the over 10 years I have had it. My spouse joined the Air Force which I am grateful for him and his sacrifices. I speak on behalf of myself and many other Spouses who have struggled to find a job to pay off debts. We move every 3 to 4 years and are not guaranteed a job when we move especially if that move is to an overseas location. I myself have been lucky to find a job but by the time I start and get settled and build a small savings it’s time to move again.
I do not regret joining my spouse or the places we have lived but I want to be able to start a family without worry of this debt. I have paid as much as I can but due interest it is a never ending story. Student loans are my biggest regret and my biggest failure. I want to be able to contribute to bills and have a savings especially for when my spouse retires and we are ready to buy a house.
