Mr. Daniel Penny, a former marine, potentially saved many lives by being a good Samaritan and protecting people on the subway from a mad man in a drug induced rage. Penny put the man in a humane choke hold for 5 minutes until police arrived but the man passed away and Penny faces many decades for the death if convicted. We need to make sure that people arent afraid to intervene to help their fellow humans, that accidents do happen and when drugs are involved it is often hard to know how peoples body’s will react to being restrained. This doesn’t mean that they shouldn’t be restrained but that is what we are heading towards. An era where people are so fearful that they will spend their lives in prison because they were trying to help protect others. Good Samaritan laws should protect these people for attempting to be good Samaritans to the women, children, elderly that are most vulnerable to the abuse of a man in a drug induced rage. These people were essentially trapped on a subway with the madman and could not escape or walk away from his death threats, stating he was going to die today, and throwing objects, which is why Daniel Penny intervened. He should be a hero, not in court fighting for his freedom. Common sense is losing ground in this country. Please Pardon Daniel Penny after reforming good Samaritan laws to protect people who try to help restrain a dangerous person for the public good.

I would add that he be compensated for his pain and suffering of racially unjust prosecution, be able to sue Alvin Bragg and other liberal DA’s for unjust prosecution, as well as others who have suffered racially biased prosecution.
