I definitely agree that alternative forms of medicine should be covered if they are considered effective. If nothing else, that would drastically help out rural communities when it comes to pregnancy. They may have access to a midwife, but not a close hospital, for example, but insurance almost never covers it.
Chiropractic care would be another great example of stuff NOT covered by insurance that is very helpful to a lot of people.
Chiropractic should definitely have more wide-spread coverage through insurance. It saves people dealing with chronic pain from undergoing failed surgeries and risking an opioid addiction. If RFK is going the holistic route with vaccines and nutrition, chiropractic definitely falls in line with these ideologies and should be considered a topic that needs more advocacy because it promotes natural healing without the use of drugs or surgery. Itâs quite literally big pharmaâs enemy.
I 100 agree with you!
I pay $150.00 to a health club for natural medicine, but it gives me discounts on visits and vitamins. My doctor is a MD, but does everything natural. My insurance pays 0 so annoying. I need to get some IV treatments, but canât afford right now @ 150.00 a treatment. This needs to be changed, I take no medication, just natural medicine
FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE DOCTORS covered by insurance could provide me like many many americans with qaulity of life again! All my doctors turned me away and said "we were taught to treat DISEASES, you dont have disease you have imbalances. And they reffered me to fucntional medicine. However as a single mother of 2, i cannot afford these out of pocket costs. So i am left to slowly die, in pain. We need more options for help!
I want this so bad. I work in the area of insurance at corporations and I hate offering bad insurance to employees that deserve better. Insurance companies do not cover providers that take a holistic approach to healing and that is not fair to those paying for coverage they do not believe in or that doesnât work for the people.
I agree entirely. As a student midwife it is frustrating that many insurers do not cover midwifery care when we know from decades of research that it has more favorable outcomes for mothers and babies.
This would be amazing! We have spent so much money on holistic medicine that works. Things like thermograms for breast screenings instead of mammograms that have been shown to be harmful. How about putting money into things like frequency treatment for cancer and other illnesses. Definitely get rid of vaccine requirements.
Agreed with completely. As much as Americans pay for ins we should be able to have majority say of how that money is spent especially when the American who pays is the focal point of the business.
I would like to see the incorporation of NBHWC or IFC board certified Health Coach services as part of medical options including services covered by insurance. This a vital service that can bridge gaps that we currently have when it comes to medical compliance and lifestyle change interventions.
I have spoken to my Chiro about this, she has advised me, instead of paying monthly for medical insurance, to put it all in an HSA fund. Most of the Chiro/ Functional Medicine Docs here in Iowa accept HSA
Also integrative and supportive therapies for cancer patients should be covered by insurance. Hyperbaric oxygen, ozone, accupuncture, biofeedback, vitamin c ivâs. Integrative practitioners should have insurance coverage. Super important to help the body heal whether you choose standard treatment or integrative treatment.
How about Doctors being required to go through vigorous education of nutrition, supplementation, alternative therapy treatments in their degree? As well as⌠Individualâs having the choice to trying longevity health clinics under insurance packages, example using a Dexcom to track eating patterns with seeing Blood Glucose (monitoring levels) or special labs to balance autoimmune issues or concerns along with diet and supplements instead of multi-medications. Or the âright to tryâ older proven drugs at low-dose like Naltrexone, Hydroxychloroquine, Ivermectin or Rapamycin?
I think thereâs great good to be had in natural remedies. During COVID, for example, Bromelain and Qurcetin were found to have inhibiting affects on the coronavirus. There was study done and everything. I took bromelain and quercetin while attending a course in DC during the height of COVID and never once got sick though I was exposed multiple times by people who tested positive for it. Big Pharma has too. much of a grip hold on our psycheâŚas if only concoctions created in a lab can help us rather than things available to us in nature that have - in some cases - been proven to be more effective and safer. I think this is something that should be studied more and funded more so that people have a choiceâŚa real choice in how to go about curing their diseases.
As someone who suffers from chronic illness, Iâm 23 and I have A LOT of medical expenses. It took me YEARS to find doctors that could help even steer me in the right direction. I found that most of my doctors are considered âfunctional medicine doctorsâ and they are not covered by insurance just because they wont throw a prescription at you. So now I have to pay so much out of pocket when I have 2 insurances from my parents just to be able to have a decent quality of life. It amazes me that we are okay with giving Americans hundreds of thousands of dollars woth of medical debt for an issue that is 1. being caused by over medication and 2. being caused by the horrible food standards here. But now pay out of pocket for someone to manage it withou medication and pay wayyy more for healthier options that donât have seed oils, pesticides, and food dyes in it. This would be literally life changing for me along side of the food standards changing.
I have a son with chronic illness and over the course of his 8 years, he has never been so healthy until we took a holistic approach rather than modern medicine who couldnât even give him a diagnosis for years.
As a QiGong practitioner there are holistic remedies and natural/holistic modalities for healing, Breath Work, meditation, Tai Chi, Qi Gong etc., although baby steps are needed I believe that Sound and Frequency Therapy, Ozone Therapy and IV Drip Therapies should be high on the priority list of reimbursable treatments. Big Pharma need to stop making us sick.
