What about the fact that out of pocket costs are not deductible until a family is at a crisis level of expense to income ratio? Here was my idea for an immediate solution since the insurance thing will take longer Run your Health like you run your Business- Tax Deductible expenses
Until we fix the problem of insurance coverage being a lot of monopoly money and invisible profits moved around with very specific strategy, the sheer fact that your out of pocket expenses are not tax deductions needs to be addressed ASAP. This was my suggestion Run your Health like you run your Business- Tax Deductible expenses
Homeopathy, acupuncture, Alopathy, rife machines, natural medicine all net more progress and preventative measures and longevity than western pharmaceutical medicine. This is the standard in England and pharmaceuticals are a last resort rather than pill pushing with 200 side effects. I spent thousands out of pocket only to not use my medical insurance via work and I was required to pay it.

When the government creates a situation where something is mandated, you can be sure the cost of that situation raises. Insurance is that situation now. The government has mandated insurance for auto, business, home, and now medical. In ever case the price of everyone of those items has skyrocketed.

I agree. My apologies if my comment was too far outside the main direction you wanted to take this.
Maybe the term āFunctional Medicineā is better suited to replace āHolistic.ā Functional medicine still requires doctors and nurses to have specific training, however they test for things that our traditional providers refuse to look into, and they focus more on natural first, pharmaceuticals second, dor treatments. Holistic providers can actually be anyone who studies it without any licenses.
I also feel this would be so beneficial for functional dentistry. Learning now that there are dangers in removing certain fillings where traditional dentists do not use the propet equipment and protection when removing them, but having to pay more and out of pocket to a Functional Dentist, shouldnt be something most people cannot afford.

I agree 100%! I would much rather try acupuncture and things along that line but it gets so expensive! Also massage should be covered as therapy, most people need a massage survive especially with jobs that are so physical

I have been using holistic methods for over 30 years. At 60+ to date I have not been in any prescribed meds. Once in many years I have had to take antibiotics. With that said, the holistic providers that I see need to be able to offer insurance for their approach to healing.

right now it depends on your health insurance and which state you are in. Functional medicine needs to recognized and covered by health insurance just like allopathic medicine is. Let the consumer choose and not the health insurance!

I could not agree more. However I can see where this could be an issue. I am a natural health practitioner and board certified but I am not acknowledged as I am not a medical doctor. I think we have to come to a place of degree or certification acceptance that allows us to practice and be acknowledged first.

Now here is an idea I can get behind, no reason at all to have insurance companies involved at all.
Actually the CMS controls all. If you do not understand why people were fired for not taking the COVID vax and/or not complying with mandatory testing, itās because CMS mandated compliance. So this is a government policy issue. All healthcare is dictated by government policy. This is not a legislative issue, unless the politicians make it one.

Iād like to be able to use my āgovernment health benefit ā to choose my medical solution. Be that a diet program that gets me on a diabetic diet to control or avoid diabetes and high blood pressure; a chiropractor to address scar tissue or pulled muscles; homeopathic remedies vs big pharma drugs; heck, a witch doctor if that will cure me! I donāt do pills and am tired of having to pay out of pocket for lower cost, fewer side effect remedies. Can we make Medicare a Health Savings type account where I have a specific amount that I can direct to any remedy I choose? I will be responsible to budget these dollars and therefore will avoid unnecessary doctor visits and prescriptions.
