Agreed. We don’t have to continue to pay taxes on other things we own outright, aside from registration fees.
I completely agree with this! Our property taxes should be paid when we purchase the property and only then. We should not have to pay taxes on property more than once. Every year our property taxes increase, and they are becoming unaffordable . We don’t purchase it every year so why do we have to pay taxes on property we already paid for?

That’s why I believe all titles should again become Allodial titles that we truly own our land again! This I think would stop property tax because we don’t live under a king anymore. We the people own America not our government and definitely not to be undermined by whatever party is running the government at any particular 4 or 8 year stint

I agree! My 82 yr old mother paid off her home years ago, but every year struggles to keep up with the property taxes and is reaching the point where she may have to sell her home. She is on a fixed income and cannot keep up.

I also agree. I’m a widow and my property tax keeps increasing and soon I won’t be able to afford my house payment and I’ll have to sell the home my husband worked so hard for.

Agreed. I can see a county tax for use of roadways to help find roads and infrastructure at a control point, however property tax is absurd. It implies you don’t own land and property and that you are a mere leaser of said property.

I agree! Paid off my home a few years ago and I still pay 4.5k every year in property taxes EVEN TOUGH the road my house is on is a complete disaster.

100% property taxes are putting Americans into debt. You work all your life pay off a house but you can’t retire because taxes are out of control. You can’t retire!

As much as I would love to eliminate property taxes, this is a state and local government problem since there isn’t a federal property tax. However, the federal government should make it illegal to tax on unrealized gains—increasing property taxes based upon appraisals and taxing people out of their homes.
Property taxes are wrong for a few reasons.
- It prevents true ownership. If you don’t pay your taxes, the government can take your property away. Anything that can be taken away from you for not paying, you don’t really own.
- Property taxes are based upon an appraisal and not what was paid for the property. So your property value increases, you owe more taxes, but you didn’t get any of that money. When you bought your home, you could afford it, but now you are taxed on unrealized gains and you can’t afford to stay in your home.
Next time local officials ask for more funding to refurbish government buildings: the library, police and fire stations, or school— vote NO!

This is how the banks recycle the land and perpetually retain ownership of all land. You pay off your property, you fail to pay taxes up to a certain amount over time because you cannot catch up on the payments. Why can’t you catch up on the property tax payments? Because the tax offices force late fees at a percent rate that enables the debt to keep growing. The cease your property eventually, and if the local government (City, County, or State) deems it valuable enough to hold onto for sale later for development they do so, but usually they will try to auction it off to recoup the debt they placed on it, subsequently focring you out of your property - you lose, they win. If it does not auction they put it out to the various banks for potential purchase. Tax collection is another means of bank foreclosure. But the local government gets a taste of the money.
In it’s truest form - the local, county, State, Federal governments and their agencies are all guilty of corruption under the RICO ACT, this is the exact reason the RICO Act was created because the Mafia created this kind of scheme, and of course the grand daddy of them all? The Federal Reserve (Private) Bank.

I would add that starting the day this is enacted into laws that all titles for property should become Allodial titles so we physically own any property that’s ours and can be passed on to next of kin with zero death tax penalty !

Why are Human beings the only species on this planet that is supposed to pay to live here? We have the God given right to exist on this Earth, and we don’t owe anyone money to be here. Property taxes imply that someone other than the people own our land or country, and we cant truly be a free country or people unless we can live here without the threat of having our home stolen from us by the government. We have the total right to live on the soil of the country we were born on. Abolish property taxes!
