Continuing the discussion from Reforming Restrictions on Pain Management and Ending the Harmful Stigma Against Pain Patients:
I had a bariatric procedure prior to having a 3-level neurosurgery that was unsuccessful and has caused me excruciating pain since 2007. I cannot take any NSAIDS. My Mayo Clinic doctor wrote that I will always have an absorption issue with medications and time released will not work. The misery of pain management has been huge due to the doctors lack of insight. I always review my doctors’ notes as all other doctors will look at them like gospel. I need medications more frequently than is on their template of prescription procedures. I’m living with UNDERtreatment, as I’m too afraid to be too honest. Great, cogent letter.
