We dont need term limits we need earning caps and spelized tax codes that higly limits alternative forms of income profitability . Political servants should only be allowed a salary sightly above minimum wage . And not be allowed in the stock market

All you folks who support this should also give a vote to “Call a Convention of the States to Limit the Scope, Power and Jurisdiction of the Federal Government”, because you can ALSO achieve the same goal through a Convention, plus other policies you might support! Why limit yourself to a single topic? It’s perfectly safe; nothing that passes out of the Convention can become law until three-fourths of the states ratify it, so anything too extreme will be doomed from the outset.

The longer government officials are in office the more they will take power to themselves and learn to work the system for their own advantage to stay in office indefinitely.

The proper type of convention is in article v of the constitution It is an amending convention to propose amendments to the constitution such as term limits. Convention of States Action is working to get the needed 34 states to apply for and hold such a convention. A constitutional convention, which is not authorized in the constitution, would be akin to the first convention in 1787 - to create a new constitution

The only way to impose term limits is by constitutional amendment. Since no one in Congress will ever vote to propose such an amendment to end their career and they are not the only people who need term limits (congressional staffers, lifetime appointed justices and all the 400+ executive branch agency and department heads) you need to press your state legislatures to invoke the Article V convention method where the people through their state legislatures can call a convention to propose amendments Congress will not propose. With blockchain voting, we can all monitor their performance even during their term, maybe every 3 to 6 months and if we find their performance and votes on policies do not represent our interest, they can be voted out.
2 to 3 years term limits but with the option to remove them during those terms.

Besides term limits when their term is up they shouldn’t be allowed to get a salary for the rest of their life. Maybe give them a 1 year severance while they go back to the work they were doing before serving. And they should not have their own Government retirement make them go on Social Security and Medicare like the rest of us maybe then they would protect it .
