Ohio just prosecuted someone for this under animal cruetly. But they only get one year in jail. I agree there should be an increase in penalty and the laws taking away any exceptions.

Ban the consumption and slaughter of cats and dogs - no exceptions

Ban the slaugher and/or consumption of cats and dogs for any reason in the United States. Issue: Currently the Federal laws allow exceptions for indigenous people and religion. There is no reason to eat cats and dogs in the United States. We have plenty of other options available in this Country.
