I agree, and think this should be expanded to all benefits. Same vacation time, same maternity/ paternity leave, same sick leave, etc.
It certainly would send the right message: That public office should not allow you to live out-of-touch and insulated from the challenges and expectations experienced by those Americans of whom you are supposed to represent.
Exception being the President.
We don’t have a national healthcare system. We have a healthcare system we pay into whereby insurers can approve or deny coverage.
Congress should be offered the same healthcare as other federal employees - nothing more, nothing less.
Medicare advantage policies changed a lot in NH this year, I also need better coverage for my medications since one of them is very expensive. We are retired, we need more help than the government is giving us since they chose to spend all our money on things other than we the people.

Given all of the recent uncovered money-laundering and kickbacks revealed by the Trump administration in only the first couple of weeks of office, perhaps members of Congress should be getting the same healthcare coverage as the local prison population.
I agree! Additionally, they should not be paid more than the median pay of their constituents.
