And the following day so that we can watch the results!!
Which is why Iâd personally advocate for making use of a federal holiday we already have and rescheduling Presidentâs Day from February to November.
Itâs not like federal holidays havenât been moved before, FDR moved Thanksgiving during the depression on grounds that it would lengthen the Christmas shopping season to improve the economy (so thereâs a case to be made that FDR is to blame for how Christmas has been corrupted into an overly long shopping season, but thatâs beside the point) and Iâd say that moving Presidentâs Day in order to turn it into a federal election day is a far more valid reason for rescheduling a holiday.
I liked this idea at first, but then judges wouldnât be âworkingâ of which the RNC mobilized attorneys for any election issues. So this couldnât happen until the elections are secure with ID laws in all 50 states.
I would be ok with Election Day being on a Friday so that if you choose to stay up late to see the results you wouldnât need to wake up early for work the next day
100% for itâ:+1:
Mail in ballots are important since there are older people who cannot get out to cast their votes, but I do agree that it should be restricted
A 100% must. Personally i worked so i wasnât able to go vote during the poll hours.
All forms of early voting should be done away with also
Yes! That would make it so much easier to vote for people who go to school or work or both.
I agree would make it easier for people to get off work to vote.
My company gives us this day off of work. Seeing how long the lines are when turnout is high, shows that all people need to have the freedom to do this.
This should be the entire week.
I can agree with this although weâre going to still see individuals work.
Give workers on Federal Holidays some Holiday Pay. Also, employers should choose to pay Election Workers as if it was Jury Duty (Employer pays by choice from Federal Recommendation)
Maybe add an extra paid day for Election Workers, as theyâre most likely out till after 10pm. (Max hour pay equal to their work schedule)

It needs to be a national holiday not federal.
Yes, one day voting all in person at poling sites, for older individuals we can have transport to help them get to sites, they will receive front of line status so they do not have to wait in line. Have in person poll sites for all military where ever they are stationed.
For those who work service type job the job can be required to allow for shorter shift so they can go vote, for example if you work at a retail store and you have a normal 8 hour ship, the employer must cut the shift down so you may have time to go vote.
They need to allow mail-in voting without regard to having a handicap condition as long as you provide proof of citizenship and ID. Do you know how many people were financially damaged lost their vehicles due to car repossessions, because the cost of living got out of control, and they had no means to get to voting precincts? I know some people that wanted to vote for Trump, but couldnât because the mail-in vote was only for disabled people to utilize.
I love this idea however I work at a high school as a 12 month secretary and even when the students have Presidentsâ Day off I still have to come to work so we need to make sure itâs a âmandatoryâ day off most workers.
This should be a part of an integrated Secure US Elections Act that provides for:
For Federal Elections;
One day in person voting
Voter ID
Paper Ballots
Limitations on absentee voting, only military, disabled, and previously registered voters employed overseas
Same day (within 24 hours) report of election results
Only US citizens can vote.
Of course states may do as they will per the Constitution for non federal elections
Can we move Election Day to a Friday? So those of us staying up till all hours of the night watching the results come in, have the weekend to recover.
