End Federal Income Tax in favor of a National Sales Tax

The most important aspect of a national sales tax is that it will cause society to shift away from consumerism. This is a positive for the environment but a potential negative for goods and services sales.

The tax situation is challenging. I cannot support this until a more thorough development in tax policy comes to fruition. The reality is taxes need to increase because we are in massive debt. I agree, income tax of companies just gets passed to the customer. I agree, fixed income retirees suffer from property tax. However, a flat tax on purchases can hurt the country if there is a recession and the people are not spending money. Therefore, I need a better policy introduced or an explanation as to why I am incorrect before I can contribute my vote to tax reform.

While I disagree with the idea of replacing corporate taxes with a national sales tax, I instead support removing federal income tax and reintroducing tariffs as the main revenue source. This approach is historically proven, aligning with the U.S.'s financial structure during its wealthiest era. By using tariffs, we could generate revenue without burdening domestic consumers directly, maintaining a more balanced approach that supports national industry and economic strength.

resounding yes, this is the way to go! It has the added benefit of cutting all the wasted time spent for accounting related tasks and let businesses focus on making better products. No need for the IRS!!!

With a national sales tax what happens to the sales tax at state/county/local levels - replaces that? I am all for ending federal payroll taxes and paying a sales tax but double dipping sales taxes with federal and state, as is the case in some states, will become burdensome.

The national sales tax should be collected by the states and remitted to federal government returning power to the states. The most fair tax. Everyone pays based on their consumption. The more you spend the more you pay and vice versa. That is until we can fund the federal government strictly through taxes. All other forms of taxes should be against the law

I absolutely agree! Abolish the IRS! It is ridiculous that a person work their life away to only keep the government up in frivolous spending and making sure all the other countries are taken care of .

*We pay taxes when we purchase our homes only to pay property taxes again each year. If you don’t pay the taxes they will take it and sell at courthouse auction- where’s the fairness that we live in a country that a government agency can just take what you purchased . OR you work 40-50 hours a week on a salary and barely survive to be told hey you only owe 1700 in federal this year and 680 in state after paying in over 12,000 in taxes during the year. And let’s not forget if you don’t pay the taxes they will levy your house and sell it for money they didn’t earn you did ! How’s it possible that anyone could take your home you purchased for money they say you owe them. I didn’t see them doing my job for the said money .

  • We purchase our vehicles and pay taxes - each year have to pay taxes again on something we already purchased .
  • We are taxed at local occupational and restaurant taxes on top of all other taxes .
  • We are taxed on all daily living necessities to no end!
I am exhausted from working so hard to only make sure the IRS can have their pockets full from my money . When will we be allowed to actually keep what we earn and spend as we need . We can’t provide for ourselves right now let on making sure the IRS can hire 100.000 more agents to take our homes, bank accounts. Please end the tax issue !

If that means giving up deductions, many would be paying more tax.

Implement NESARA!!!

I disagree with replacing the tax. When we are minus the agencies we never gave permission for the existence of and the others are trimmed back, tariffs will support quite well. When the programs we fund don’t exist. When we end subsidies to endless programs and issues. When we’re not endlessly bailing out other countries or funding wars which are not our concern. When we’re not funding virus research on foreign soil. When we’re not maintaining standing armies in violation of the Constitution. When we strap the government to ONLY the nineteen essential services we created them to perform in Article One of our Constitution. When we realize government was banned from almost everything they do by the Tenth Amendment. When we stop paying for things that stand against our way of Life as outlined in the Constitution and keep that money in our pockets for things needful in our individual states, we will be in a better position to decide what money the federal government might need and do something about it.

How about NO federal taxes! Fund the government with tariffs.

The IRS is just a debt collection agency that can’t even prove the validity of the debt they are trying to collect. It’s easy to send them packing. Hundreds of thousands of us already have. The only authority they have is imaginary because they have the People afraid to fight back. Gave myself a $13,000 raise this year by giving them the boot.

If you had read the first post, I covered that. Everyone needs to have skin in the game. 43% of Americans don’t pay taxes at all, many get money from the government. The social welfare state is one of the reasons we’re so deep in debt.

Calling for ending of Federal Income Tax and you propose a NEW tax?

I think the first paycheck they receive with out federal taxes being removed would help them understand.

Income tax is a thing of the past anyway for hundreds of People. When you comprehend that the IRS is just a debt collection agency that can’t even verify the validity of the debt they accuse you of owing and that they lack any authority to collect, it’s quite easy to see through the thin elusion and see your way to freedom from that tyranny.

If you haven’t read the “Fair Tax” book I would highly recommend it. The idea that because you eliminate the corporate tax but increase the sales tax should in theory cause corporations to lower their costs because of competition. I don’t know if it would work for certain but to me it’s seemed like the best idea I’ve ever heard and I read that maybe fifteen years ago.

Also make sales tax just a part of the final price of the item (similar to gas/diesel) not all at the end of the transaction.

It would be best, rather than proposing tax ideas, to see what’s left when Elon and Ron get through taking the trash out. Let’s just see what’s left and then evaluate what money may actually be needed. It will be hundreds of billions (if not higher) less than we’re wasting now when we’re not supporting other countries, useless wars and government waste.

We already have a national sales tax, it’s called the corporate tax. Corporations don’t pay taxes and they simply shift the costs to the consumers by raising the price of the goods/services.
