Perhaps a program could be established for people who leave willingly.
(Those that would like to make amends in the future, and do things the right way. )
There is a line of law abiding people that waited patiently, and many ignored taking the right steps.
Breaking the law must be acknowledged, and the commitment to being a good citizen must be proven.
If you have to be forced out, you would lose the right to ever enter legally.
I respectfully disagree.
There is a lot of harm when our schools, hospitals and services are overburdened.
There is harm when our housing supply is thrown off balance, and prices skyrocket.
There is harm when elevated census numbers disrupt congressional representation.
There is harm when people come to believe itâs okay to disrespect our laws.
That is why immigration needs to be a lawful, orderly process we celebrate.
Americans are not allowed to break into other countries, and reside there without penalty.
Once the lawlessness is addressed, I am sure we can create an expanded and wonderful process for the good future citizens we welcome here.
I agree with some of your points, but are we willing to crater housing prices? are we willing to crater rental yield on our rental properties? are we willing to crater retail sales after we deport 50 million people? to pretend like removing 50 million people from our economy is not going to have any negative consequences is naive.
NO NO and HELLNO. They came ILLEGALLY Jack. They broke the LAW. They then forfeit all of their property and money that they STOLE while here. Use that to send them back to where they came from. I will fight this to the deathâŚquoting Pritzer that great communist governor or Ohio.
People donât say those things about murderers. Illegals are worse. Build concentration camps in Death Valley and KEEP them there until they can be deported. No ifs, ands, or buts.
Or a pathway to citizenship that allows them to vote in ten years provided they do not receive Federal or State aid-- Medicare, unemployment, etc-- that goes to citizens first
We pay billion per year to far too many countries in foreign aid (in my opinion should be 0), just deduct the amount from remainder if weâre going to continue sending them money.
Anyone who thinks this is too hard to do need only look at history and economics. This is how i would do it (at a high level):
Asylum quota set to zero for now.
If you are here illegally, you have 60 days to close your affairs, sell your property, and leave. If you need help leaving, use the CPB One app to request transportation. This includes DACA and asylum seekers not from Mexico.
Seal the border. Finish the wall. Put the surveillance balloons back up, and give border patrol what they need to effectively close the border. Anyone caught crossing at a place other than a checkpoint is documented and sent back. Second offense is a year in jail in southern AZ in a tent.
Remove the safety net. No more housing, funding, food, medical, schooling for illegals and asylum seekers.
90% tax on remittences
Heavy fines and perhaps jail for employing an illegal
No federal funding in any form for jurisdictions that are or contain a Sanctuary jurisdiction for illegals, no funding for states who fund sanctuary cities or other political subdivisions, no funding for any entity who refuses to enter into an agreement to enforce detention of illegals for ICE to pick up.
Citizenship/Legal Presence checks for purchase of real estate or other taxable property (cars, etc).
Reverse the SCOTUS decision requiring schools to provide education to children of illegals.
Remove âbirthright citizenship.â It never should have existed to begin with.
Medical providers who treat illegals must report them.
If we cut off the access of illegals to the economy, the âsafety netâ which belongs to Americans, and make it difficult to live here, they will leave, and wonât be incentivized to move here. But this needs to be codified in statute - it is too easy for the next President to open the doors reversing good policies like Briben did.
All criminal illegals need to be deported immediately. No illegal should get any benefits from our government, that will limit illegals wanting to come in. We must also find a way to tax money sent back to countries from the illegals who work here. And especially Cartels must be named terrorists organizations. Maybe illegals who inform on Cartels and gangs which result in arrests should be compensated with a path to citizenship?
Then we send the bills to the country of origin and force them to pay it. Or we hold back any money we send them yearly, and we USA citizen shell out a lot of money to these other countries.
I agree, the only thing is how do we make it easier to grant green cards to college educated, job holding citizens? My closest friend to me has been here 5+ years and canât find a job at her level to sponsor her. She is extremely educated and speaks 4 languages and has a horrible life at home and made one here. She has the risk of being deported this upcoming year if she canât find a job to sponsor her. She applied everywhere and is willing to do anything but canât apply to lower class jobs due to them not being able to sponsor her. Any ideas or help? Idk what to do!
I like what you have to say. I might be concerned about the phrase, ârespects human rightsâ. The Left will use such a phrase to whack Trump/Vance, and I think the Republicans will have to be both careful and clever about that phrase.
If we donât get overzealous, our economy will adjust just fine. Kuwait ejected about 300,000 Palestinians about three decades ago. Their economy adjusted just as expected. It most certainly didnât crash.
I have no doubt that many, if not most, of the immigrants work hard. However, their mere presence here depresses wages for the working- and middle-classes. Thus, many will have to return to their native lands.
Deport illegal criminal aliens first. Second, give a three month âGrace Periodâ for them to voluntary go back to their own country. Free airfare and $400 when they arrive in their land.
Illegals need to be tracked, they perform a necessary task for picking crops (or other jobs) that no one else wants to do. We need a temporary visa easily obtained (for example, a website employers use and register their temporary cross-border laborers. They will of course need to return during periods when they are not working.
Mass deportation is impractical, expensive and disruptive.
I would not recommend giving police officers immigration power. They will abuse this power by targeting all dark-skinned individuals regardless of immigration status. If I get pulled over for speeding, and the officer asks me if Iâm a citizen, I will tell them to kick rocks and remain silent (even though I am and also a veteran). It seems the economy is not even considered with this oneâŚ
I agree with this concept but, I think there needs to be a grey area . If they have been here for a while and are not violent criminals, they are positively contributing to society and really want to be here, they should be vetted and given a path to citizenship. I realize this is a very small majority of illegals but I think a few of them really need a chance to make their lives better. Most definitely cut all funding for illegals.
